Members Page Tutorial

How to change your profile:

1. Log in to WordPress:

You must be registered with our wordpress site to do the following. If you are not, email Don!!
Log into the WordPress site using the link below to change your profile. Use your log in info (you should have received an email with this info when you registered): http://www.ecoartnetwork.org/wordpress/wp-login.php
2. Go to your Profile: Select the Profile link in the left hand column.

3. Fill out your Name info: Enter your First Name, Last Name, Nickname, and select the following Display name: “Last First.” These entries are important because they automatically order alphabetically the members on the members page.

4. Enter your contact information: Your email is required and your website, AIM, Yahoo IM, and jabber / Google Talk are optional. If you add your website url it will be linked automatically to your name on the members page.

5. Enter “About Yourself” info: Enter your bio information under “About Yourself.”  Use the html code below, replacing the red text with your own. I suggest you cut and paste the html code into a word processing application and enter your text. Save your file to your computer so you have a copy and then cut and paste the complete text (code and information) into the “Biographical Info” box. Be sure to replace all the red text with your bio info. Also,PLEASE limit your bio to 200 words!!! Otherwise, it gets very long to read on the member’s page.

PLEASE – use this code:

<br><h5><address><p style=”text-align: left;”><strong>Biography: </strong>Paste your biographical information here! Please keep this section to under two hundred words!! If you would like more a separate personal page or blog can be created. </br><br><strong>Website: </strong>Paste your complete website URL:http://www.yourwebsite</br><br><strong>Contact Information:</strong> Paste contact information here! This is up to you if you want to include your  email, phone, address</br></p></address></h6>

6. Change your photo: In “Avatar Upload” under “Current Avatar,” check the “Delete Local Avatar” box. Then click “Update Profile.” You will be returned to the top of the Profile form. Scroll down to the “Current Avatar” box, and browse to select an image.  This can be a picture of you or another image you choose. This image is sized at 150×150 pixels. Anything larger will be resized. Anything smaller will become pixelated when enlarged. Anything rectangular will be distorted. So if you have a square image that is larger, it will retain the correct proportions and will automatically be scaled smaller. After selecting your image, click “Update Profile” again.

7. View the results: Click “Visit Site” in the WordPress navigation bar at the top of the page. You will be returned to the homepage. Then click  “Members” in the WordPress navigation bar and find your entry. That’s it, you’re finished!!!
