CAA 2006 in Boston, Massachusetts

In February, several list members attended the College Art Association conference
in Boston. Greenmuseum.org, Women Environmental Artists Directory (WEAD), and
the Regina Gouger Miller Gallery (Carnegie Mellon University) pitched in on a table
at the CAA book fair. Our table featured publications, including the Ecoventions and
Groundworks catalogs, WEAD Directory, and many informational handouts on ecoart
organizations and artists. Our table was complemented (and instigated) by Linda
Weintraub whose table down the aisle featured her new series of publications, "Avant
Guardians: Textlets on Art and Ecology."

Ecoartnetwork held two planning meetings and organized a networking session in the
conference hotel for network members and the many new friends we met while sitting
the table. Ann Rosenthal, Aviva Rahmani (Chair), and Ruth Wallen also presented on
the panel "Practical Ecofeminism" along with local artist Anna Shapiro at the Women's
Caucus for Art annual conference preceding the CAA. Many thanks to all those who
organized and participated in these events--it was a big success and lots of fun!
